Brewster
Located on the bay side of Cape Cod, Brewster is a sea captains’ community.
Each April you can enjoy the annual summer festival held in the town – Brewster in bloom.If you’re seeking for a place for biking and hiking Nickerson State Park is a wonderful place for that. It contains camping areas, and freshwater ponds for swimming, fishing and boating.
Brewster Historical Society Museum in a 1830s house which includes four permanent galleries and a special exhibits gallery. Also has a sea captain's room with paintings and artifacts, an 1890 barbershop, a child's room with antique toys and clothing, a room of women's period gowns and accessories, and other exhibits on local history and architecture.
In Brewster you can also visit The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History. There are two floors of exhibits about the flora and fauna of Cape Cod, including exhibits on whales, indigenous birds, and coastal change, and several aquaria holding different species of crustaceans, fish, frogs, turtles and snakes. Several displays are interactive and geared to children. The Museum also has a library and Museum Shop.
Brewster Ladies' Library is the source of information, recreation and services for the entire family and encourages active, lively participation in all kinds of programs, projects and exhibits.
