Nantucket
Situated 30 miles out to sea south of Cape Cod Nantucket is a 50-square mile island of wonderful natural beauty and its own historic charm. Together with the small islands of Tuckermuck and Muskeget, it constitutes the town of Nantucket. The town is a famous tourist destination.
During the summer residents and visitors enjoy the seasonal events including the Daffodil Weekend, Harborfest and the Cranberry Festival.
The Nantucket Historic District, created in 1955 by residents to preserve the island’s unique historic character, is a part of the National Register for Historic Places. This is the largest conventional historic district in the U.S.
